The Wednesday session offers you a double feature with “Home” and “Strain Hunters”, two hovering docuses to gain height during the holidays. Good projection!
Home (2009) : written and directed by Yann Arthus-Bertrand, produced by Luc Besson, this superb 90 minutes examines the links between man and Earth. Conceived as a travel diary, the film consists solely of aerial images (the earth seen from the sky, totem theme by Arthus Bertrand) and a voice-over that sings the beauty of our planet.
The topics covered are all related to the environment: access to drinking water, deforestation, melting ice or even the depletion of natural resources, axes approached with this beautiful optimism which characterizes the director.
Breathtaking images to see and review without moderation.
Strain Hunters (2009) : Arjan Roskam and his team of weed variety hunters take us to Jamaica, in search of “landrace”, those natural cannabis phenotypes, never altered by the hand of man. In this episode “the King of cannabis” flanked by his late sidekick Franco Loja will travel in very good company the mountains and valleys of the island of Marley, in order to find and better understand the culture of one of the most celebrated and sung Ganja by Bob, Peter, Jimmy and the others: Jamaican Purple, AKA Ganja Supreme.
Good session !
